THE PEOPLE ARE THE LIGHT: MORROW’S HUSH

Enter a space, within a space. A room removed from the sounds of today.  Become mindful of your own internal rhythms. Engage in deep listening and emerge from quietude into the natural and spoken sounds of tomorrow's Homewood.

Morrow’s Hush is a reduction sound booth. A storage container converted into an anechoic chamber. The outside of the container is dressed with shimmery, reflective insulation. On the inside of the container is situated a vacant pew and a tape recorder, surrounded by acoustic panels and studio foam wedges. The floor is also insulated and covered by an ornate rug. Visitors were invited inside the box, the door was shut and offered a quiet space for all attendees to catch up with themselves and meditate after listening to a prerecorded message on a tape recorder.

THE RECORDING

"You Are Here."

"At another point in your life."

"In this space. Within a space. Within a space."

"This room is for you.

"Your beliefs. Your grief. Your will to continue."

"I'm proud of you. No matter who you think you are."

"Take a few minutes to rest your mind."

"When you come out, follow the trail and listen deeply. You may hear what tomorrow sounds like."
